Franky has certainly primed himself into a formidable force with the advancements of his research and application of his passion. It was by no means a pretty win for Franky but a win regardless. General Franky was damaged. Franken Blade was broken. Frank’s cola has been depleted. But Sasaki now lies unconscious on the floor bested by Franky. Another of the Beast Pirates Tobi Roppo has been defeated and only one more remains (not including Drake and discounting Page One returning to the fight).Continue reading
As the Beast Pirates overwhelm the Samurai rebellion with sheer numbers, the likelihood of the raid succeeding decreases with every moment. Though unbeknownst to both parties, Tama has made herself a player within this war and took it upon herself to change the very flow of the battle with the assistance of Nami, Usopp, Komachiyo, Speed and the other Beast Pirates she had pacified. The pieces in play which the Beast Pirates expected to slowly devastate the rebellion are now being turned again them thanks to Tama’s Kibi Dango. Each and every SMILE user present on Onigashima are being rounded up and converted into allies against Kaido’s forces. What the Beast Pirates and CP0 thought to be an expected result is now rapidly crumbling into chaos revealing the ignorance consuming the Beast Pirates. Destiny beckons and the nine shadows begin to make their way into the light.Continue reading
Determined is her mind. Unyielding is her body. Resolute is her spirit. And inspiring is her courage. The actions of Yamato, against the force of the Beast Pirates, convey a strength sourced from the suffering of her struggles and her intense admiration for the hero of Wano Kuni. Despite the overwhelming situation she now finds herself in, the weight of what is at stake drives her forward toward a present that requires Momonosuke to survive. To a dawn that will see the liberation of Wano Kuni and its reconnection to the rest of the world.Continue reading
Orochi looks different than what I expected but given his meeting with CP0 and the way he forced them into a corner with the threat of Kaido, he isn’t afraid of making the World Government his enemy well as long as he has someone strong backing him. It has become obvious that Orochi is currently enjoying the benefits of having allied with the World Strongest Creature rather than being the one who the Marines and World Government fear. If that element of fear is taken away, where would Orochi hide? I’m sure Orochi is somewhat capable but the one pulling most of the weight and striking terror in any rebellion and opposition is Kaido and the Beast Pirates.
The aftermath of the events concerning the Reverie will have to wait as the focus has shifted to a country long built-up through the story and an arc every reader has anticipated since Ryuma made his appearance in Thriller Bark. The Wano Kuni Arc has begun. It has finally begun!
With their manliness challenged, the two engage in a battle tanking each others hits in order to be the last one standing and prove to the other that they are the manlier man. From a spectator’s perspective, the mere notion of such a battle may appear meaningless and foolish, but despite the duty they hold to others and the promises they made, the importance of being a man to them takes precedence over any other consideration. Franky and Senor Pink may be on opposite sides of the line by they certainly understand each other and resonate together.
My goodness, I can’t even think clearly because the overwhelming dose of manliness from Franky and Senor Pink has sent my senses into a climax of both awe and horror. Did what just happen actually happen? It’s chilling trying to rationalise what just took place but the amusing nature of the events beckons one to continue wondering. Ultimately though, through countless events of zaniness, a battle between “man” has erupted.
The Sugar surprise panic strategy has begun and with that so has the most important part of the arc, depending on what happens here, tremendous shock waves will be sent throughout the world. How exactly will the Strawhats and their alliances stop the Donquixote underground trading port and the SMILE factory? And how can such a massive underground trading port exist and function without the World Government knowing about it? I look forward to having these questions answered. Also Oda-sensei is one sly man, I noticed that Christmas present in the final double spread page as well as the hinting of ‘Santa’s-little-workshop’ going on, a very fitting chapter to end things at for the week of Christmas (ho ho ho – where is Brook when you need him, /sadface).
There he goes again, Doflamingo gives Luffy another reason for wanting to take him down. If the treatment of Rebecca by the country wasn’t enough, he went and showed Law getting shot right in front of Luffy. Law saved Luffy’s life and Luffy knows this, Luffy also knows Law is a good guy which is why he agreed on the alliance between the two. There is no way Luffy is leaving Dressrosa now without giving Doflamingo a serious beat down, just like he did with Crocodile and Hody. It is going to be satisfying seeing Doflamingo fall after painting himself such a bad guy.
What an awesome chapter, it was unbelievably amazing and well worth the wait. Seeing several of the Strawhats in action and witnessing just how much they have improved over the past two years was such a pleasure.
