Dr. Stone Chapter 201 – Gazing From The Moon

Dr. Stone chapter 201 - Senku and Suika chapter cover

Why-Man’s reaction to the radio waves being broadcasted by the Science Kingdom across Earth is too automated to be coincidental. It is almost as if Why-Man was designed to react to reverberations of humanity it comes across. A seemingly mechanical and expected reaction from Why-Man with a response more threatening than substantial. One has to wonder the form of the mind behind Why-Man and the overwhelming obsession it has with ceasing humanity almost as if Why-Man were programmed to do so. The robotic actions of Why-Man to date can’t be inconsequential. I honestly cannot shake the feeling that Why-Man really is an AI that now resides on the Moon with a directive to petrify humanity. An AI that considers itself superior to humanity.

Dr. Stone Chapter 200 – Divide And Discover

Dr. Stone chapter 200 - Senku heads across the Atlantic to build other cities and procure more resources for the spaceship construction

The potential of science continues to be on display within the chapter. As the base rocket engine is designed, so to is the Perseus 2.0. And with the birth of the new Perseus, the journey across the Atlantic begins where Senku and Co. look to establish other cities and procure the materials needed for the spaceship that will take them to the Moon where Why-man is located. The Science Kingdom is divided into three groups with each having a separate a mission central to stopping Why-man and reviving the rest of human. At the current story pace, we may actually have the the revival of the Corn City group within the next chapter.

Dr. Stone Chapter 199 – The Path Of Science

Dr Stone chapter 199 - Xeno and Senku, the team of dark and light scientist

The story pace has certainly picked up. In the span of three chapter, the world has become repopulated with a sizable portion of humanity – at least 75 going by the numbered revival fluid bottle Taiju was holding. The ore has been mined and progress toward building the Spaceship engine and the revived Perseus is underway. And within this very chapter, the Superalloy City has been developed and populated. Months, if not weeks would have passed during the construction of the Superalloy City. Will the story come back to focus on the residents of Superalloy City or were they merely background characters to show humanity coming together once again.

Dr. Stone Chapter 198 – Senku And Xeno

Dr Stone chapter 198 - Senku and Xeno work together reach Why-man on the Moon

Didn’t expect Xeno to be revived so soon but considering the presence of “Why-man” on the Moon, the need to reach there in order uncover why humanity was turned to stone, an expert is needed. In no time at all, the two have constructed a plan to building a spaceship and now depart on a journey to mine the minerals needed to build the components they need. Senku understands the intentions of Xeno as well as the fascination he has as a scientist but what will be interesting is whether Senku underestimates the pull Xeno has towards his own personal intentions. I don’t doubt that Xeno will help the Science Kingdom but when exactly will Xeno decide to betray them?

Dr. Stone Chapter 197 – Reviving The Deceased

Dr Stone chapter 197 - Suika revives Senku after 4 years of effort

In addition to healing injuries, the state of petrification also appear to have the effect of reviving a person from death. Just as how Senku and Tsukasa’s lives were brought back through the use of the petrification state, Hyoga who was stated to have died by Tsukasa was returned to life when revival fluid was used on his statue. The initial malicious characteristic of the petrification may not be such. Rather than ending humanity, could the source between the petrification 3700 years ago be the result of a desire to save it? If the petrification can heal and restore life, was the mind behind it intending to restore a certain life? ‘Why-man’ may not be as antagonistic as initially suspected.

Dr. Stone Chapter 196 – The Revival of Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone chapter 196 - Suika hugs Senku after four years of experimenting on recreating the revival fuild

What an inspiring chapter. After the reintroduction to the stone world, the change of perspective from Senku to Suika worked incredibly. And the notion that science exist beyond any life conveyed itself magnificently through the journey Suika went through coming to terms with being alone in the world and having no revival fluid at her disposal. No matter the knowledge that is snuffed out through the termination of scientific minds, science will always exist. The process involved in understanding the universe we live in still exist. And the hunger for curiosity is a characteristic inherit in all human beings. With life naturally comes the existence of science. And through that intimate relation humans have with science, progress is born. Suika’s journey in reviving Senku encapsulated that notion wondrously.
