I wonder why the Sternritter were so surprised when Yhwach deemed them unnecessary and began to sacrifice them for those he does deem worthy. The Sternritter were probably around long enough to realise what type of person Yhwach was, especially seeing as they were around long enough to put their belief in him. Yhwach was pretty transparent in how he does things, if he doesn’t agree with something, he makes sure he is heard out, so it was expected that when he came to the conclusion that the Sternritter aren’t doing what he expected, he would put into motion a plan to remedy that and in this case it was transferring the power he bestowed on the Sternritter to those he deems worthy. With the Royal Guard on the back-foot, it seems like a great moment for Ichigo and Co. to show up and utilise some Hollow power to combat the power-up Sternritter.
And I thought it was over, how wrong I was. Yhwach’s “Elite Force” is far from defeated it seems, all thanks to Yhwach reviving them. None of the Sternritter in the Elite Force impressed me, so seeing them get up to receive another beating isn’t all that exciting, although I wonder now with Yhwach reviving them if they are stronger and/or unable to die =/. It is going to be interesting to see how explains exactly what happened and whether Yhwach can continue reviving his “Elite Force” when they are down.
So that is what Askin’s “Death Dealing” ability is, to be able to manipulate a person’s lethal dose tolerance to a substance, how fascinating. Initially I was wondering where the chapter was going when it began talking about the concept of “lethal dose”, but once Askin revealed how he would apply it in the battle against Ohetsu, it made sense. Unfortunately for Askin, he wasn’t up against just one Zero Division member, Tenjirou joined in and pretty much nullified the effect “Death Dealing” had on Ohetsu. I guess Askin only has his allies to blame for getting disposed of so easily and Yhwach for just standing there like a chump and not doing anything useful to assist.
What an incredibly enjoyable chapter, I was growing tired of the Quincy and their fights being stretched excessively over several chapters, thank goodness Ohetsu was on the scene to send several of the remaining Sternritter off to the grave. That failed zanpakutou, Sayabuse, which Ohetsu is using is quite the peculiar zanpakutou, to have such cutting ability that it is basically a ‘one swing, one kill’ blade (for the most part). Askin being alive was great, his character has been established as being a interesting one, so I am glad he will get a moment to be highlighted in his battle against Ohetsu. Will be interesting to see how Ohetsu will handle a guy who just can’t die =/.
For a moment I was wondering whether the Royal Guard/Zero Division were all that but with Senjumaru trolling the Sternritter, Kirio entrapping them and Ohetsu challenging them like a badass, I just got my answer. What a satisfying chapter that highlighted the Zero Division being nothing to laugh about, hell now I don’t even mind if they finish off Yhwach’s “Elite” Force before Ichigo and Co. arrive at the scene. With Ohetsu on the scene now, you just know something badass is about to be unleashed.
Hahah wow, I was not expecting Nimaiya Ouetsu to be so charismatic, hilarious and awesome, what a pleasant surprise. I was expecting him to be serious, somewhat bland and underwhelmingly charismatic, but his introduction this chapter changed that perspective completely, he just oozes out awesomeness. He’s weird, extremely weird, but that’s what makes him so amusing and interesting to watch/follow.
