Irene has noticed this and being a High Enchanter herself, understands when another has achieved such a level. Wendy has grown and through such a journey, Irene herself in beginning to change as well.

The dynamics between Wendy and Irene within the series have been incredibly affecting. The two certainly have differing perspectives and approaches to handling situations but I feel that such a contrast enables them to broaden how they see life and how they view themselves. In Irene’s case, she was never able to be a mother to Erza but through Wendy she is playing the role of mentor and in a way, the role of a mother. That protective reaction Irene has when it comes to Wendy isn’t just some fleeting feeling but one defined within the core of Irene. The motherly love she possessed but was never able to fully express.

To be able to manifest energy into a physical form when it existed as only ethereal matter, what a curious turn of events. What should be a moment darkened by danger is instead one left filled with fascination. It shouldn’t be possible but it is, Irene now has a physical form albeit not her original one but nonetheless, a form that exist within the physical plane for all to see and comprehend. If a magic exist to extract spiritual matter from an individual to then mold into a plushie-esque form, is it than also not possible for that same spiritual matter to be transformed into another physical form, one matching the appearance of Irene’s true human form? The lines of impossible have been blurred once again and Irene’s return seems more an inevitability now than a mere possibility.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 96 – Laxus VS Kirin: Red

There are few mages that can challenge Laxus when it comes to single combat, so I was curious to see how far Kirin would be able to push Laxus beyond his usual capabilities. Kirin was able to catch Laxus off guard with his unique type of Atmosphere magic to the point where he felt confident enough to reveal to Laxus how his magic functions. In Kirin’s mind, he wrote Laxus off and believed he wouldn’t be able to counter his magic. Expectantly though, Laxus was able to use the environment to his advantage to channel his lighting through which included taking advantage of the properties of his Red Lightning Dragon Mode. Curiously though, while Kirin was overwhelmed, he revealed that it was time he got serious? Is this merely smoke or does Kirin truly have a larger power he has been holding back for moments like this? I truly hope Kirin gets seriously push Laxus.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 85-89 – Team Natsu VS Alta Face

The cause of the danger leading Elentir to the brink had less to do with Selene directly affecting it and more to do with the distortion she created indirectly amplifying a problem that already existed from ancient times on Elentir. The issue was in the form of Alta Face that throw the equilibrium of magic and life into imbalance. Selene was likely unaware of the exact specifics behind the imbalance but she sensed the effects of her distortion and relished in its potential for destruction. An event of amusement piquing the intrigue of a Dragon existing beyond the rationality of mortals. With Alta Face defeated and the balance of Elentir on the path to restoration, what now will come of the world and in particular, Selene. Will she revisit the world or will her concerns deviate toward the consumption of vengeance?

In the end, it doesn’t seem fair, does it? Irene, who loved so much and gave so much for humanity, found herself continually mocked by the hands of fate. Irene didn’t get the chance to get to know Erza, to spend quality time together with her and to be a parent to her daughter. Irene was broken by the subjects of her love and cast down into a spiral filled with suffering and anguish eventually being overwhelmed by madness where she found herself driven by the desire to kill her own daughter. Since being imprisoned by her husband, it was moments of suffering followed by moments of suffering. Only at the end did Irene come to reclaim back the humanity slowly being lost within her rage. Still, it would have been inspiring and heart-warming if Irene had gotten the opportunity to be a mother and the chance to share her life with her daughter.

Fairy Tail Chapter 517 – Irene’s Madness And Wendy’s Pride

Within that tiny body an immense spirit resides

Despite the gap in magical abilities, Wendy manages to push beyond her limits and reach a state allowing her to utilise Enchantment Magic matching Irene’s level. Even with Irene’s twisted desire to remain within Wendy and start anew, Wendy’s desire to return to the body holding her memories, in the form of her scars, of the times she shared with those precious to her overwhelmed Irene. Now once again, mother and daughter face off against each other.

The fate of the Dragon Slayers leads to an end scorched in chaos and lamented by torment as the doomed plays spectator to their vanishing humanity powerless to prevent. With the essence of the Dragons coursing through them, the overwhelming Dragon presence within each Dragon Slayer eventually consumes them transforming the bearer into a Dragon with their human sides lost within the maelstrom of rage. The only way past that fate is to silence the Dragon essence within through the use of a power even more overwhelming – with the essence of a Dragon seeking to protect them from being consumed.

From the moment the concept of “infiltration mission” was mentioned, you just knew something would go awry and deviate the very nature of the mission. Fairy Tail just wouldn’t be Fairy Tail without a bit of spice to enhance the flavour of excitement attached to this mission. Although they started off so well fooling the Albareth Soldiers with their fake Guild Marks. A shame right from the very get-go the Albareth soldiers revealed themselves to be such villainous scum, would have loved for Erza and Co. to maintain their cover without incident for a bit longer, at least until they reach Alakitasia and the Albareth Empire. Oh well, Mest can still alter those soldiers memories and remove any trace of Fairy Tail from their memories.

Fairy Tail Chapter 387 – The Continental Magic Pulse Bomb

That is some weapon the Magic Council has developed, what were they thinking if at all?

Well dam, that sure exploded in Fairy Tail’s face. Mard Geer is still kicking, Franmalth is still alive thanks to some unknown mushroom transformation, the Kyuukimon are still powerful and Face is anything but destroyed due to their being more than one Face – the Magic Council were such trolls. Looks like the answer to the threat FACING humanity lies in the form of Lumen Histoire, the “secret” locked away underneath Fairy Tail. At least now we know why Mard Geer was so confident the Face plan would be able to progress despite the initial Face going down. I wonder where Mard Geer is getting all this information from O.o.
