That chapter. My goodness that chapter. What an unbelievably incredibly electrifying read. I loved it. My body was not ready for how amped up it would now be. Ahhh, how glorious. The threads of the journey unfolding throughout the manga have now found themselves converging at a point tying together a new thread on which the path forward has been constructed. The satisfying nature of payoff is a magical experience in how something so consuming and defined can yet surprise the avenues of the mind when the moment is presented in the manner as it was in this chapter. Certain elements were expected but the way they aligned and cascaded alongside each other, such a feeling evoked is indescribable. But if a word was to be placed reflecting the spirit of its conveyance – exhilarating,Continue reading
The Wano Kuni Arc is building up as the representation of the Straw Hat Pirates message to the world. Once Kaido is defeated and Big Mom obstructed, the world will know in no uncertain terms that the Straw Hat Pirates have achieved what no one before them have. They challenged the Yonko and won. Ever since the great Pirate Age began and the Yonko were formed, none of them were completely defeated. Whitebeard died but he didn’t lose, not really. What Whitebeard set in motion will ultimately result in the downfall of the World Government. Luffy and the wings that support him will undoubtedly become the Pirates closest to the One Piece once Kaido is defeated and they acquires the third Road Poneglyph.Continue reading
What an interesting revelation conveyed through Who’s Who’s circumstances at the end of the chapter. A former CP-9 agent that existed as a rival to Rob Lucci until the incident that led to the loss of the Gomu Gomu no Mi 12 years ago. Seemingly as Who’s Who was guarding the ship the Gomu Gomu no Mi was kept on, a pirate crew attacked (Red Haired Pirates) and made off with the fruit. Why did the Gomu Gomu no Mi need to be protected by the World Government and why was it so important that the failure to protect it led to Who’s Who’s imprisonment? It’s odd. Wasn’t the Gomu Gomu no Mi just a random Devil Fruit with seemingly no apparent overwhelming qualities? If that is not the case, does the true powers of the Gomu Gomu no Mi reveal itself when the fruit is awakened? Or was the fruit being guarded merely because Im had a vision or feeling that the Gomu Gomu no Mi would eventually lead to the World Governments downfall?Continue reading
Out of the shadows and into the focus. The target of the Yonko, Nico Robin, has intentionally made herself present answering the call for help from an ally who has complete faith in her ability to not only save him but also defeat the enemy he is powerless to challenge. Knowing full well that a trap awaits, the only person in the world capable of guiding others to Laugh Tale now alongside the Spirit of the Underworld (the Soul King) engages in a battle against one of Kaido’s top officers. And should Robin lose, not only will her future be in question but the liberation of Wano Kuni from the tyrants destroying the country will also be impacted.Continue reading
The shadow of destruction. The reflection of uncontrollable. The terror of possibility. The dragon of chaos. And the strongest creature there is. It took a while to get their but we finally begin to see what makes Kaido so OVERWHELMING. A distinct force that staggers any who seek to stand before him. Implausibility reckoned within mortal form. Now, with the plan in motion, Onigashima trembles.Continue reading
What tragic treatment of people by the representative who was meant to protect them. For the leader of Wano Kuni to treat his people as disposable as garbage, how utterly inhumane. I expected Orochi to behave in such a deplorable manner but even with that expectation, it is still hard to comprehend that a person can go through with such cruelty. Orochi knowingly included the failed SMILE’s in the left over food for the outer Wano villages and intentionally desired them to consume the fruits and have their emotions stripped away save for smiling and laughing. All because Orochi considered their grieving for their deceased loved ones an inconvenience and annoyance. How far will Orochi morally fall before he is satisfied?
So there was a deeper relevance to the Sumo battle Luffy fought earlier in the arc against Urashima. To think that Luffy defeating Urashima will become a plot point at such a critical moment. The Beast Pirates don’t realise it yet but they are currently in the ring with the contestant whom defeated the Wano Kuni Sumo champion. The Haoshoku Haki was only an appetizer before Luffy displays his true Sumo prowess. Both the Beast Pirates and the prisoners will come to understand who Monkey D. Luffy is.
I can’t put my finger on it but something insanely massive is going to go down soon that should have been impossible and I am not talking about Kaidou being defeated because that was never impossible but rather just a matter of time. The build up seems too awkward to not have something happen to shake everything up. The Yonko need to really get how particular Luffy is and why he has made it this far into the New World without having to sacrifice his ideals and beliefs. The qualities that Luffy embodies is what made Whitebeard leave the New Age to the future generation. Will Kaidou and Big Mom see in Luffy what Shanks and Whitebeard saw?
Sanji’s Germa agent moniker is incredibly badass – Stealth…Black. It’s a name that would strike terror in the minds of antagonists and hope within the hearts of innocent bystanders caught under the heel of suspect individuals and organizations. Law gave Stealth Black an incredibly memorable entrance with his commentary only to have it further entrenched in history by Sanji’s poor attempt to disguise himself behind a fake name totally devoid of any seriousness – O-Soba Mask. If that name sticks…how unfortunate it would be for Sanji and for the readers as well. Sanji NEEDS to adopt the Stealth Black name and carve out a resume of destruction through the current landscape awaiting him within Wano Kuni. The world NEEDS to experience the brilliance that is Stealth Black.
What an exciting chapter that leaves you eager for the events about to follow. Sanji finally has an opportunity to earn his bounty level because the current wanted poster bounty he has is extremely generous and undeserving. I personally feel Sanji has more to do to deserve a bounty higher than Zoro who has been directly influential in the downfall of enemies that stood against the Straw Hat Pirates since entering the New World. This chapter thankfully opens up the door to Sanji to help display that he is worth the bounty on his head.
