First things first, Komurasaki is not dead. It may appear as if she was killed by Kyoshiro but as we know in One Piece, appearances can be grossly misleading. The exchange Kyoshiro and Komurasaki shared was unquestionably suspicious as if set-up for a moment just like this where they can use their fake identities to fool those around them. Kyoshiro may have stated that he was showing Komurasaki mercy as a Samurai but that was an excuse to detract suspicion away from himself. The current events illustrating Komurasaki being slashed and subsequently killed are all an act. Whether it is through a Devil Fruit or just great acting, Kyoshiro did not kill Komurasaki.
Komurasaki IS Hiyori, the daughter of Oden and Toki and the younger sister of Momonosuke. Komurasaki isn’t merely just a courtesan, she has set her plans in motions for this moment when the prophecy her mother expressed 20 years ago would come about, where Orochi would be defeated and Wano Kuni liberated from his suffocating strangle. And I believe it is not just Komurasaki putting on an act but Kyoshiro as well.
Orochi’s silhouette leaves a lot to the imagination with the multiple headed snake teased. Can Orochi really transform into a hydra-sort of beast or was that panel a play on our expectations with Oda-sensei subverting what we actually find ourselves being led to believe. It would be amusing if the silhouette was in fact the outline of a tree or just Orochi’s pet. It seems to obvious to introduce Orochi in such a fashion without underlining the readers first impression on such major arc character. Oda-sensei never conforms to standard and is generally aware of what the readers would be expecting when reading his manga. He utilises that expectation to misdirect the readers opening us up to twist many do not see coming. Could this be one of them? I really do wonder.
The aftermath of the events concerning the Reverie will have to wait as the focus has shifted to a country long built-up through the story and an arc every reader has anticipated since Ryuma made his appearance in Thriller Bark. The Wano Kuni Arc has begun. It has finally begun!
And so the story shifts back to journey towards Raftel and the dangers awaiting the Straw Hat Pirates in their path. The Red Poneglyph aka. “Road Poneglyph” serves as a guide to reaching the final point of the Grand Line, Raftel. Carved in four Red Poneglpyhs are the locations of certain points which when joined reveal the location of Raftel at the point where all the lines intersect. With one of the stones found, Nico Robin now needs to read the remaining three in order to find the location of Raftel. Easier said than done though as two Yonko each have in their possession a Red Poneglyph.
Overcoming the limitations of its existence, this brave soul pushed himself beyond his capabilities driven by the duty etched into its soul by its creator. A noble and honorable soul using everything it had to scale the massive hind leg of an Ancient Elephant in order to deliver its friends, the Straw Hat Pirates and Law, to the top. Regardless of fatigue, it broke past the barrier of impossibility and successfully saw to it that the Straw Hat Pirates reached the top. A hero in name, form and action, Ryuunosuke the dragon will forever be remembered for what it accomplished during its trying journey towards the enigmatic Zou. RIP Ryuunosuke.
We all suspected Luffy would at some point reveal a major power-up he developed during the past two years that allows him to surpass his limits and many anticipated that this power-up would take the form of a new gear – Gear Fourth, and alas with this chapter, we finally have confirmation that Luffy has indeed developed a Gear Fourth to push himself beyond his limits. In order to defeat Doflamingo within the hour and prevent anyone in Dressrosa from getting killed, Luffy has taken it upon himself to be the raging storm that blows away the darkness known as Doflamingo.
Pica is one strange man, I had expected him to focus all his efforts towards defeating Zoro but in the end Pica determined the best way to protect Doflamingo’s position as the king of Dressrosa was to remove the closest obstacles threatening Doflamingo’s position i.e the previous king, Riku Dold III, and the people representative of the Dressrosa from ten years ago. It is understandable that Pica believes in Doflamingo, but his definition of “king” is so grossly twisted, I can’t help but wonder why he believes Doflamingo makes such a great “king” after everything Pica has seen Doflamingo do. Does Pica really not know the depths of a person’s compassion and kindness (being only subject to torment and suffering prior to meeting Doflamingo)? Regardless, Pica right now is trying to remove the Dressrosa that existed ten years ago by removing King Riku himself.
Kyros; the strongest gladiator in the history of the Corrida Colosseum, the undefeated champion of 3,000 matches, and the commander of the Riku Royal Army, yet a man robbed of his humanity for ten long years fated to exist as a toy while the nation he loves slowly crumbles into ruin and desolation. Carrying the weight of a nation’s sorrow and the regret of his own inabilities on his shoulders, he becomes the embodiment of country’s anger and bears that weight towards the man who brutally stole the life of his wife away from him and the world. The difference in resolve driving their swords became the deciding factor in revealing who the true Hero of the Corrida Colosseum was.
They are only two female characters currently in the Straw Hat Pirates, so it may be hard to try to predict what qualities another female character would need to possess to potentially become a Straw Hat member, but even with two we can still try to dissect some notable consistencies or similarities that may help in identifying a female character that could have potential in becoming the next female to join the Straw Hat Pirates.
