What an interesting surprise, even with Mest’s intense chaining of teleports to get Makarov a fair distance away from the Alvarez Empire, Azir, the Desert King, still managed to follow the two via his sand to the main group. Seems like the Spriggan Twelve may have expected something of this nature to occur before Mest went in to save Makarov. Whatever the case, right now Fairy Tail have to battle their way towards the coast of Alakitasia where Mest can teleport the group within Sorano’s underwater vessel, Olympia, allowing them escape.
What an unexpected development yet one which holds a very logical basis behind it. The reason behind the Alvarez Empire desiring Lumen Histoire is all connected to Zeref and his currently unrevealed reason or reasons for desiring it. Zeref is currently the Emperor of Alvarez, an Empire which he created solely for the purpose of countering Acnologia. Since the Empires conception, Zeref has been preparing for the Dragon King Festival, a festival where Humans, the Dragon King and himself engage in battle to see who will be the ultimate victor. Within that festival of survival, I assume Zeref too plans for the whole situation to further pull Natsu towards his role as E.N.D. Ultimately, what Zeref desires is to be killed by E.N.D.
What a spectacular display of overwhelming power. With just a stamp, wave and stare, she utterly silenced any doubt in Alvarez’s military might and to top it all off she sunk a whole Island, albeit a small one, but still she sunk an Island! Exhibiting characteristics that border the extremes of severe and indifferent, one can’t help but be charmed by her apparent inconsistent and obscure approach to duty. At the same time as being unconcerned about what Fairy Tail does (leaving them alone to their own devices), she wholeheartedly conveyed the terror awaiting them down the path of their current destination they are traveling. It is a peculiar personality Brandish has, one which boldly stamps its identity within the manga over just one chapter. I look forward to seeing the types of personalities the other Spriggan Twelve have.
Well that didn’t take long, a Spriggan Twelve member appears! And here I was wondering if we would have to wait until Alakitasia for the serious Alvarez Empire mages to show up. Looks like there is more substance to the threat the Alvarez Empire poses than I had initially surmised. I doubt Natsu and Co. will end up defeating a Spriggan Twelve member so soon in this arc, so I am curious to see what Erza and Co. will do once they find a way to escape from Marin’s space magic – surely the threat the Spriggan Twelve members represent for Fairy Tail in this arc is an element central to its story. Once Marin is defeated, I can see Erza and Co. escaping Brandish. Continue reading
So Ikusa-Tsunagi, a massive deity of battle capable of large-scale destruction, was one of the Yakuma Eighteen War Gods. Arlock sacrificed his own face to summon Ikusa-Tsunagi and was ready to offer him his own life and the lives of all the followers of Avatar in order to create a landscape of death to beckon Zeref. Operation Purification was never only about “purifying” the masses in a town, Arlock had always intended to offer up the souls of the believers of Zeref within Avatar as his ultimate sacrifice. That conviction to his twisted delusion really did make Arlock a dangerous man.
Though the flow of time may have separated the fairies, the bonds of their hearts which has always connected them to each other has led them to gather again and with the threat of a new dark entity rising, the world once again is in need of the guild bold enough to challenge the approaching darkness ready to consume the world. The Mages of Fairy Tail make their return ready to take on the inevitable wickedness awaiting them!
In the end the timer does reach 00:00, but as for the Faces activating across the continent, I wonder about that, they could have been stopped by the other groups of mages active trying to avoid the nullification of magic across the continent or Lumen Histoire could be used to counter the effects of the Magic Pulse Bombs. Regardless, you got to hand it to Kyouka, she gave it her all to make sure the timer ticked down and actually did succeed in buying enough time, though I do wonder if the Faces will really activate, after all they may be met with an Error 404 O.o.
Reduced to nothingness and numbed of sensation, the world before one turns to darkness, yet within that formless stream of existence and space, the magic of one’s soul manifest into a light connecting their being to the endless depths of the world. Broken down and stripped of her five senses, Erza manifest her spirit into a light capable of residing within the flow of the world, ultimately awakening a sensation beyond form.
What an unexpected flashback from Gajeel, to think there was something brooding within Gajeel’s heart and at the back of his mind. To acknowledge the void within his heart and to find a way to live his life in a meaningful manner, such thoughts over the years began to become more understandable and meaningful to Gajeel, that after his defeat to Natsu when he was in Phantom, Gajeel made the decision to change the way he lives his life. On top of that, the regret Gajeel feels at being unable to save the mother-figure in his life, one of the magic council members, Master Berno, must have hurt incredibly hard for him, especially when he really wanted to show her how he has changed and repay her for all her kindness and love.
I was curious to see how Torsafusa and Tempesta would mount a counter attack on Natsu and Gajeel when they were so fired up, and it looks like Torafusa still had more to show after all. To be able to summon a massive body of water to cover such a large volume of space, that curse of Torafusa’s is quite something. Gajeel with the limited oxygen he has definitely has his work cut out for him but thanks to Levy, his life was saved allowing him to continue fighting.
