The hands of fate tick forward guided by the age ascending to the dawn. One Piece Chapter 1043 – The Return Of Joy Boy

After this chapter Yamato’s relevance has begun to touch the realms of essential. The path forward is very much set-up to be alongside the Straw Hat Pirates. As the story begins to embrace the significance of Joy Boy more, Yamato becomes more necessary as the agent of Oden who intends to assist the one the world has been waiting for. Dissenters can can disapprove. They can disillusion themselves. They can attach their hope onto something that may or may not manifest. But what they can’t ignore is the direction of the plot and the writing of Oda. Joy Boy has returned and with it a will spanning 800 years has been inherited by Luffy who now takes on such a role. No one expected this out of Luffy, except Yamato, who realised Luffy’s importance to the person the world has been waiting for after Ace’s execution two years ago. The pieces of information Yamato possessed in the form of Oden’s journal, the newspaper articles and even what little information they had from Kaido and the Beast Pirates, he pieced it all together to arrive at the conclusion that the one person capable of fulfilling the promise left unfulfilled by the ancient figure is Monkey D. Luffy.

All wars are won on information. And going forward as the focus turns to the Straw Hat Pirates being involved in more wars, the need for information becomes more crucial and necessary. Luffy may be the protagonist of the series but there is a limit to how far luck can carry a main character. Gol D Roger lost to a lack of information. Oden lost to a lack of information. Rocks lost to a lack of information. Big Mom lost to a lack of information. The Underworld Broker Joker aka Doflamingo lost to a lack of information. The Straw Hat Pirates lost to a lack of information in the past. Kaido will lose to a lack of information. Even the Lunarians and Ancient Kingdom likely lost to a lack of information.

[Theory] One Piece – Yamato And Fish-Man Island

When the Straw Hat Pirates visit Fish-Man Island again, I suspect the Island’s deeper relevance to the Void Century will be covered as the story threads of Poseidon, the “Ship of Promise” Noah, Wano and Luffy are weaved together. Obviously when that time comes, the Straw Hat Pirates are going to need someone who is both aware of Joy Boy and familiar with the Mythical Zoan Dragon Devil Fruit. Thankfully, Oda has crafted a character that fills such a purpose in the Wano arc i.e. Yamato.

[Theory] One Piece – The Story Relevance Of Yamato

Kozuki Oden had TWO wishes. One to open the borders of Wano and the second to assist the figure the world had been waiting for over the span of hundreds of years i.e. Luffy. It is pretty apparent at this point that Yamato has inherited the will of Oden and is currently fighting to see Wano Kuni liberated from Kaido and subsequently have the nation’s borders opened.

The battle which Oden mentioned would take place 20 years after his death was not just the battle against Kaido but also the battle against the World Government, the enemy which the Kozuki closed Wano Kuni’s borders to defend against. Yamato wants to fight on Luffy’s side. And such a desire will not only entail the battle against the Beast Pirates but also the inevitable battle Wano and those nations that align with their beliefs will have against the World Government when they become the target. Yamato’s wish to get stronger as he sails the seas before fighting in the war will manifest as they join the Straw Hat Pirates.

One Piece Chapter 965-969 – Oden And Roger

Experiencing the world and sharing in an adventure destined to change the fate of an era, Oden clears open a path forward on which the eventual Pirate King would map their journey on. The guide stones of the past left behind by a civilisation erased from history lead the adventurers subject to their voices onto a road toward a destination filled with questions to answers ultimately leaving behind an expectation on those choosing to take up “their” will. With the world against them and the truth buried within the shadows of the past motioned by strings intent on keeping whats hidden sealed away, the story of those fighting to achieve freedom find themselves purposed with the responsibility of carrying the weight of a hidden time. Along with Roger who expressed himself through his legacy, the man known as Kozuki Oden now walks forward to save his nation about to dye history with the expression of his adventure and heart.
