Edens Zero Chapter 204 – The Story of [Ziggy]: Void

Edens Zero Chapter 204 - Ziggy's forgotten memories

I was absolutely wrong in my assessment of Ziggy and future <spoiler> in relation to the story and I don’t mind in the slightest because this has to be one of most affecting reveals I have experienced in Edens Zero. Everything from Ziggy’s inception, to the growing void in his heart, to the mission he was assigned with, to the Edens Zero’s origins. It all makes sense now. Why Ziggy began as such a character and why through the course of the expanding narrative, the shift occurred and entrenched Ziggy within the path he now finds himself on. It wasn’t nonsensical or illogical but a tragedy sourced from consequences of what came before.

Edens Zero Chapter 203 – Shiki VS Ziggy: Convergence

Edens Zero Chapter 203 - Future Shiki within the 20,000 year future timeline

The revelation within this chapter explains many things but it still leaves me confused in certain regards. The form Ziggy takes and the declaration he states conveys a clear narrative but the pathway toward this moment conflicts against its rationale. The Ziggy we knew was very much themed around a mechanical construct with limitations and operations consistent with that of a machine but given the current reveal, it appears human elements were apparent in the directives of Ziggy at least from the point when evil Ziggy revived after the Drakken Joe incident. The biggest question I have though, is why did “Ziggy” travel back to “that” moment? What was so special about that time? Was it lead Shiki down a certain path?

Edens Zero Chapter 202 – Holy VS Deadend Crow: Tears And Trauma

Edens Zero Chapter 202 - The conflict between Holy and Deadend Crow

I was prepared to have the pain of Holy’s past explored to the extent of losing a loved one but to have such a traumatic ordeal envelop her life, I was not ready for that. The rage Holy feels has been intensely intertwined within the scars of her trauma that unpacking it now involves more than just retribution against Deadend Crow. The nightmare that Deadend Crow exists as within Holy’s mind may be the immediate terror haunting her but will his erasure remedy the depths of her anguish or only reveal to Holy how consumed she has become by his shadow? The pain of her past has hollowed her out and left only rage from her scars to fill it up. This is where the Edens Zero comes in. They will assist Holy in the battle against Deadend Crow and be the light that illuminates the darkness Holy will find herself in after the battle. However Holy decides to move forward after the battle against Deadend Crow, she will have an answer to the emptiness awaiting her once the subject of her darkness is removed. An answer for how to build oneself back up.

Edens Zero Chapter 201 – Holy VS Deadend Crow: Retribution

Edens Zero Chapter 201 - Holy takes on Deadend Crow

Deadend Crow remains largely a mystery within the story so far aside from the connection he has with the incident involving a large scale massacre and the fact that he is a machine that despises humans. The aspects of his character that define his story has yet to be touched on. Deadend Crow is presented from the point of view of a villain which naturally evokes contentious feelings. Who developed Deadend Crow and what was his intended application when constructed? Deadend Crow may be present within the arc but likely due to his lacking relevance within the overarching narrative, his proximity within this arc isn’t felt significantly. Why should the audience come to care about his journey? The central driving force behind the intrigue is the vengeance Holy wishes to deliver onto Deadend Crow. What seems necessary at this point is focus on Deadend Crow to flesh him out beyond a template antagonist.

Edens Zero Chapter 200 – Shiki VS Ziggy: Gravity’s Succession

Edens Zero Chapter 200 - Shiki VS Ziggy

Time has revealed itself to be a setting within the spiraling conflict of gravity. The attraction and the repulsion naturally transpiring has threads of time intertwining its force ever respiring. Time usually serves as a container with its subjects bound to its progression but the fluidity of possibility opens the cover of restraint and allows for acts outside its definition to come about. This is where Shiki’s presence collides with Dark Ziggy’s ambitions. Dark Ziggy presumably has the context of time overarching his view yet Shiki is a denizen that resides outside the perspective of Dark Ziggy which is why the weight of Shiki’s existence exasperates Dark Ziggy so exponentially.

Edens Zero Chapter 199 – Special Ether

Edens Zero Chapter 199 - The captured mothers harvested for their Special Ether

I was unprepared for that development, especially the scale on which it unfolded. Revelations were wrapped within revelations wrapped within revelations. I suspected certain elements holding relevance yet the manner in how it was presented left me completely in shock. That was not something I expected yet within the context of Edens Zero and in particular, the intentions of Ziggy, it follows on undeniably naturally. Mother has been Dark Ziggy’s goal since his awakening and to achieve such an end, the villainy he has carried out surpasses any that had been expected of his character. With this reality facing Shiki, there should be only one answer he can arrive at concerning how to respond.

Edens Zero Chapter 198 – Sister VS Clown: Abyss

Edens Zero Chapter 198 - Sister returns to destroy Clown

A fight of sensation. A show of horror. An event without mercy. A result in domination. Clown sought to drown out Sister Ivry within the anguish of his nightmare but little did he know that the waves of exaltation cascading onto the shores of his psyche embodied an ocean too overwhelming for his hollow desires of torment to deprave. This was a game with one victor and it wasn’t the player who cast the nightmare that pretended to defile. Domination resided within the exponent of punishment. The embodiment of which reflected Sister. She unleashed her reckoning and embraced her role as avatar of subversion and agent of the abyss. Retribution against the Nightmare transpired through mental submission and with it the defeat of Clown followed.

Edens Zero Chapter 197 – Homura VS Brigandine: Ascension

Edens Zero Chapter 197 - Homura launches her attack on Brigandine

Our belief in Homura has been answered with a stirring display of resolve, swordplay and conviction. Despite the clear disadvantage she was faced with, her will to protect those she cares for overwhelmed her apprehension and crafted a miracle that saw an awe-inspiring response to the invincible defense in front of her. Outcomes aren’t determined by merely coalesces of conflicting values but more the distribution of how the weight behind those elements are used in their progression. Within each individual and each situation, the subjective factors surrounding each moment play a part in reaching the definition of the result. What Homura did is leverage her offense to momentarily ascend the force in front of her. Defense was sacrificed but ultimate victory was attained. What a rush of exhilaration. You were sublime, Homura.

Edens Zero Chapter 196 – Sister VS Clown: Runtime Error

Edens Zero Chapter 196 - Sister caught off guard by Clown's attack

Clown poses a curious query toward Sister in regards to the essence of life for machines and what constitutes the state of death to them. Expecting no adequate reply, Clown derives his own answer and provides an equally thought-provoking response. When he mentions the outcome of being unable to execute further lines of command, within what context is he referring. Clown is right within the context of isolation (human) where code cannot go further once the execution has stopped but once that state of mind is applied to the realm of reality, the answer becomes a bit more inquisitive. Yes, code cannot run once the execution has stopped but that doesn’t mean the program itself is void. In such circumstances, debugging and rerunning the code are engaged. Unlike a physical body which define humans, androids are more than just their shell, they are a system and intangible code which can be debugged, quarantined and updated.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 112 – Selene’s Wish

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 112 - Selene reveals her dream to Gray

Now that Selene has found an answer to the Five Dragons issue she was consumed by, her demeanor has softened substantially to the point where her obsession over the end sought has given way to relief. A release of distress at the uncertainty and implausibility of achieving what she wished. Desperation paved the path toward her questionable actions and encouraged her methodology of how she balanced anxiety and alleviation. Entertainment became Selene’s medicine when remedying the madness deduced from the magnitude of her mission. There was no room left for compassion, only an equal level of madness to propel herself forward toward the darkened path before her. With Selene’s eyes now focused on the answer to her concerns, she appears to see more clearly than ever before. And within this newfound realization, Selene also appears to be reflecting on the equivocal nature of her past actions.
