In the end the timer does reach 00:00, but as for the Faces activating across the continent, I wonder about that, they could have been stopped by the other groups of mages active trying to avoid the nullification of magic across the continent or Lumen Histoire could be used to counter the effects of the Magic Pulse Bombs. Regardless, you got to hand it to Kyouka, she gave it her all to make sure the timer ticked down and actually did succeed in buying enough time, though I do wonder if the Faces will really activate, after all they may be met with an Error 404 O.o.
How amusing, I was expecting Natsu to have some hand in defeating the remaining members of Tartarus, but it looks like his role is completely reserved for the final antagonist of this arc. Regarding Face, it looks like Keith’s defeat wasn’t the end of the plan, Sayla utilised her macros to animated Crawford and continue the activation of Face. With the threat of around 3,000 magic pulse bombs being activated simultaneously, it is going to be exciting to see how Erza takes on Kyouka, what Wendy has planned for the other magic guilds and what Makarov is going to do with Lumen Histoire.
You know if Mard Geer wasn’t so arrogant and oblivious to dangers Fairy Tail pose to his plan, I would have called him out as a fool for expressly revealing his plan to Erza and Co., but seeing as how it has already been shown that Mard Geer grossly underestimates humans, specifically Fairy Tail, and believes with absolute certainty that they won’t be able to stop him, it follows with his character that he has no problem revealing his plan to his enemies. But who would have thought, Keith, the necromancer, was able to revive Crawford. I guess Crawford will just have to die again =/.
Well dam, that sure exploded in Fairy Tail’s face. Mard Geer is still kicking, Franmalth is still alive thanks to some unknown mushroom transformation, the Kyuukimon are still powerful and Face is anything but destroyed due to their being more than one Face – the Magic Council were such trolls. Looks like the answer to the threat FACING humanity lies in the form of Lumen Histoire, the “secret” locked away underneath Fairy Tail. At least now we know why Mard Geer was so confident the Face plan would be able to progress despite the initial Face going down. I wonder where Mard Geer is getting all this information from O.o.
Enveloped and embraced, the intangible touch of wind resonates through the air empowering one towards a state of overwhelming freedom. And like the enchanting flow of wind with its powerful and gentle disposition, Wendy soars. And carried by the wings of wind, she dances.
Overpowered and overwhelmed and pushed to the brink of desperation, Wendy in the face of losing her precious bonds turns to desperate actions awakening the endless potential her magic wields. With the weight of many lives on her smalls shoulders and the inevitable ticking of time against her, Wendy, overcoming her former terror, rises and unleashes her Dragon Force! With five minutes left and a demon in front of her, Wendy gets ready to soar up to the Heavens.
Everything has become a lot more tense and exciting now with a timer being placed on Face’s activation. Within these 41 minutes until Face activates and all magic onn the continent is rendered null, can Fairy Tail defeat the Tartarus members opposing them and stop Face from activating? And will Jellal, Meredy and Oración Seis have a further role within this arc? Beyond the developments of Face though, who is this E.N.D. Zeref mentioned, the greatest demon “book” of he created? Why couldn’t Igneel kill him and why will Natsu be faced by such an extreme choice when encountering E.N.D.? Whatever happens within these 41 minutes and after, it feels like something significant is going to be changed.
Oh Kyouka, I love how she reacted when she realised she may have been a little too hasty in killing Crawford and losing the ability to activate Face remotely, that being, not much concern at all =P. Still what an intensely exciting chapter; Minerva’s demon metamorphosis is complete, something ominous is about to happen to Mira, Cana finds Elfman setting the lacrima, Face is above Magnolia, and the real twist of the chapter, the Fairy Tail building EXPLODES! That cliff hanger really has me hungry for more Fairy Tail, can’t wait for the next issue!
So Jellal really was caught inside Midnight’s illusion, thought as much since none of the Oración Seis members were rendered unconscious to remove the seals on Zero. But wow, Jellal crushed his own eyes to negate the effects of the illusion on him, what a badass. Following it up with the attack he was prevented from using against Jura during the Grand Magic Games Arc – Sema, which completely defeated Racer, Cobra, Angel and Midnight. Crawford this chapter, what a fool, what made him think that the demons trusted and valued him? They only valued his abilities that allowed them to get their hands on the keys sealing the magic weapon, Face. I guess Crawford gets his just desserts for being so overconfident and overestimating his own importance – stabbed right through the chest by Kyouka. With face’s seals broken and it now open to activation, looks like we may really get see what will happen to Fiore when magic is removed entirely. Great chapter.
So that is what Tartarus is after hunting down these former Magic Council members, to seize control over one of the magic weapons developed by them – Face, and to prevent any other magic weapon from being activated. Face would effectively allow Tartarus to render all magic on the continent useless and open the door for them to seize control over the surface world with their curses. It is a cunning plan, but unfortunately for them, they went and chose the continent with Fairy Tail on.
