Bleach Chapter 634 – Goodbye My Friend

Bleach chapter 634 - friend

We have really come to care about these two characters and the friendship they share…

The way the past of Jugram and Bazz are intertwined into the climax of their fight to reflect their pathing beliefs once entering the Sternritter completely heightens the meaning and significance of the fight. We have come to care about the relationship Bazz and Jugram share over the last few chapters and even though we had known that this fight can only end one way, we have still come to open ourselves to the hard decision Jugram had to make in the end. The two may have been on opposite ends for this fight, but in the end, despite the result, they were still friends…

Bleach Chapter 633 – Jugram Haschwalth

Bleach chapter 633 - Jugram's ability

Interesting, so Yhwach’s existence is a state a Quincy can be born as

It is starting to make much more sense now, the relationship between Jugram and Yhwach and the understanding the two share. It may be due to the uniqueness of Jugram that he found himself unable to fully connect with another person and as a result always found himself out-of-place despite being with a friend. However, the moment Yhwach appeared and expressed an understanding of what Jugram was going through and felt, Jugram found himself instantly drawn to that understanding and connection. Through the similarity of the uniqueness they share, they have come to understand each other, and in particular for Jugram, he has found a place to exist – next to Yhwach.

Bleach Chapter 632 – Yhwach And Jugram

Bleach chapter 632 - Yhwach and Jugram

Why does Yhwach need to have his being separated into two halves?

What a peculiar development, Jugram is the “other half” of Yhwach? What exactly is Yhwach and why does his very existence deviant from the “norm” everybody else embody? How did Yhwach go about creating a whole new branch of humanity and what are the origins of Yhwach? The very fact that Yhwach is such a unique creation leaves me incredibly curious. I get that Yhwach is the son of the Soul King, but what exactly is the Soul King? The Shinigami needed the Soul King’s existence to stabilize the dimensions from crumbling, but why in the first place did they need such an existence? Surely before the Soul King came into existence, the worlds held together fine, so what drove the Shinigami to requiring an entity like the Soul King to be the part which holds the worlds together?

Bleach Chapter 631 – The Origins Of The Sternritter

Bleach chapter 631 - Bazz-B's promise

The creator of their sorrow and the target of their vengeance…

How peculiar, so Yhwach knew about Soul Society way back in the past, I wonder how exactly he came to know about it? Could it be possible that some of the souls which fragments of his own soul were attached to knew about Soul Society and as a result when those fragments of his soul returned to him, Yhwach gained the knowledge along with the aspects of that person? Well whatever the case, Yhwach has been targeting Soul Society since he was 200 years old. As for Bazz-B it seems Jugram and him came to mutual understanding that in order to kill Yhwach, they would have to earn his trust, well at least that is what Bazz-B believed. There is still something unknown about Jugram that I doubt even Bazz-B knew about, but I wonder what exactly it is =/.

Bleach Chapter 630 – Jugram and Bazz-B

Bleach chapter 630 - Bazz-B's past

The past which connects the two…

I have been wondering about Jugram for a while now and why he felt akin to Yhwach’s shadow. I guess that feeling held more truth to it than I had initially expected; once Yhwach “sleeps” (when night falls), Yhwach and Jugram’s power switches. The dynamics between Jugram and Yhwach’s power and relation does explain why Jugram is so committed to Yhwach and why Jugram also has such a large role in realising Yhwach’s goals. Bazz-B understands this and apparently he too shares a past with Jugram, someone he considers or at least considered a friend. With Bazz-B and Jugram’s flashback beginning at the end of the chapter, one has to wonder about the fate of the two after their battle and whether one of them will have to end the other.

Bleach Chapter 623 – The Gate To The Soul King Palace

Bleach chapter 623 - Kyouraku 1

Oh you tease Kyouraku…

Looks like Aizen won’t be bringing down the Soul King’s Palace…awwwwwww! I prepared myself for some fireworks but it looks like I will have to settle for Aizen chilling back in his chair some more, which is fine with me, as long as Kubo-sensei is holding Aizen (and his chair) back for something even more spectacular. The remaining Sternritter left in Soul Society appearing to challenge the Gotei 13 was surprising but Bazz-B quickly remedied that confusion and got rid of the growing annoyance called Nanana Najahkoop…what a name. Good work Bazz-B and glad to see you are utilising your free will smartly, Juhabach never once had any of his followers interest in mind.

Bleach Chapter 551 – The Sternritter [Part II]

Bleach chaper 551 - The Sternritter

Will Toushirou be able to get his bankai back?

Once again the Shinigami are pushed on the back foot by the Sternritter and once again they seem to be getting themselves saved by the man whom Soul Society ignorantly forsook, Urahara Kisuke. I’m quite enjoying seeing the Shinigami in such a panicked state and them outclassed and overwhelmed by their Quincy counterparts. Though this push by the Sternritter doesn’t seem like it will last much longer, you can just feel the Shinigami are going to push back now.

Bleach Chapter 550 – The Sternritter

Bleach chapter 550 - Bazz-B - colour by pollo1567 (http://pollo1567.deviantart.com)

The man who prides himself with his flames, Bazz-B – colour by pollo1567

I was curious where the Sternritter stood power-wise compared to the current captains of the Gotei 13 and this chapter illustrated that quite comprehensively. I am quite glad these Sternritter members weren’t just written off as fodder to showcase how Toushirou and Soi Fong improved without their Bankai. Well that conclusion may arrive but what I am happy about is that these battles aren’t one-sided, both parties are given time to shine. If these two Sternritter members are this tough, it makes you wonder how tough the higher ranking members are O.o.
