Edens Zero Chapter 165 – Shield Of Edens: Path Forward

Faced with an impossible choice and armed with knowledge of how situations can proceed if a bad choice is made such as the time Shiki recalled being killed by Drakken Joe, it is understandable why in this moment, Shiki came to the conclusion that the risk attached to stopping the bombs was too great to commit himself toward. The information on hand lacked a level of certainty that a thread of confidence could be attached to. Gazing at the endless horizon of uncertainty the paths stretched towards, it is salient through Shiki’s actions how dismayed he felt. For someone who views the world through such a positive outlook, having to reconcile these types of decisions against his heart must hurt. But that is life and such pain can help one grow. Edens Zero Chapter 164 – Shiki VS Shura: Gravity’s Beginning

What we thought was the end of the gravity was but a layer masking the deeper depths that lay beyond. Gravity doesn’t just affect the world but ALL matter whether it holds form or not. Poseidon Nero discovered this truth much too late and as such not only had his life crushed but his Ether Gear drained by Ziggy’s gravity. Shura even learned about gravity’s potential right before his defeat. What Shura thought was merely a force to weight others down with was only a fraction of the face of possibility. Gravity, as a power, exist in a form much deeper than that. The weight of its force lies in the resolve driving its application. A foundation shaken within Shura by the doubts manifesting within his heart. It is also due to gravity that Ziggy managed to activate the antimatter bombs on Nero 66. Edens Zero Chapter 162 – Ziggy VS Nero: Absolute Victory

How fascinating. So the Empire Dice Nero possesses is not his Ether Gear but a relic he obeys in order to escape the reality of defeat. Rather than purely using the Empire Dice according to his will, Nero instead follows the guidance provided by the Dice. Their relation is a transactional one with an equal cost balancing out the triumphant. Nero has continually chosen to pay the price in the face of that absolute victory. If the Dice possesses some form of sentience, did it have a reason for leading Nero to adopting Shura? And if so, does its awareness extend to the Shura’s intentions for Nero 1? How does the Empire Dice perceive the path to victory and where exactly did it come from?

Edens Zero Chapter 160 – The Flicker Of Stars

Even with Shura’s forces dissembled, Nero still remains. And with the bulk of the Imperial Army military under his command, he exist as an active player within the conflict around Nero 66. Detached from any analysis, Nero preemptively took matters into his own hands and gambled on the fate he places within his dice. Such a roll dictated he dispatch one of the Temple weaponry to Nero 66, the Sea Serpent. A devastating weapon capable of mass destruction. The death of soldiers on all sides cascade on top of each other leaving but grief, terror and dread in its wake. Beyond the Sea Serpent, what else does Nero have lying in wait?

Edens Zero Chapter 145 – Homura: Overdrive Unleashed

How gallant and radiant. The spirit of Valkyrie resonates resoundingly through the courage of your soul, Homura. The rejection of others disapproval of your acceptance of androids has always been a reality you had to face. Where you saw life and felt love, others perceived inanimate objects devoid of feeling. It wasn’t until your encounter with Shiki, Rebecca, Happy, Pino and Weisz that the feelings you held were echoed. Now, once again the rejection of androids and their ability to exist consciously has reappeared around you. As is with the rest of the Edens Zero crew, the fight being waged for the lives of androids is something incredibly personal. While others continue to reject the existences of android, you alongside your comrades have chosen to lay your lives down to fight for those you care about, be it machine or human.

Edens Zero Chapter 141 – Shiki VS Shura: Confrontation

How exciting. Even before the Edens Zero lands on Nero 66, we have Shiki and Shura facing off against each other. I don’t expect their fight to conclude at such a point but to have the two Gravity Ether users encounter each other so early on, it signifies a growing conflict developing between the two. Barring a repeat of what happened with Drakken and Shiki during the No. 29 timeline, we can expect a more even fight between Shura and Shiki. Based on Shiki’s performance in this chapter, it is clear that he does possess abilities that can work against Shura. And even if Shura does hold the edge in natural talent, the arrogance compelling Shura’s actions will create blind spots for Shiki to exploit. This battle will serve to introduce Shiki to Shura and in turn make Shiki aware of the type of person Shura is. Shiki may even notice the similarities in their past and possibly serve as an encounter to Shura that may change his perspective on the world.

Edens Zero Chapter 140 – Entering The Battlefield

As the battle between the Interstellar Union Army and the Nero fleet unfolds, the Edens Zero and Oasis Rebellion use that commotion to their advantage in order to attempt to sneak through the gaps in the enemy formation to reach Nero 66. The size of the Nero fleet though makes it impossible to approach unnoticed, as such, the Oasis battleship resolves to stay behind so that a path forward can be made for the Edens Zero. Charging through boldly, the Edens Zero penetrates the enemy defenses and successfully manages to slip past the Nero fleet. Shura, aware that the Edens Zero belongs to Ziggy, senses a strange presence that doesn’t match Ziggy. The presence of Shiki has piqued Shura’s interest and momentarily unsettled him. Will Shura move against the Edens Zero or will he wait for them to come to him?

Edens Zero Chapter 139 – Eraser, The White Flash

After what Shura has done to his own people, there is little left for him in way of redemption once his fall from superiority brings him back to ground. The spoiled life he has lived prevented him from appreciating the value of life. And in addition, the mindset of his father contributed to his current psyche, one wrapped in violence and heartlessness. What should be seen as people are instead viewed as tools by Shura when looking at the subordinates he commands. The power he wields is but a mechanism to control both those he sees beneath him and his desires. This is why is great to see Eraser wipe clean the gleeful expression on Shura’s face as he took enjoyment spectating life ending within the space around Nero 66.

Edens Zero Chapter 136 – The Aoi High Tide

A miraculous natural event that encapsulates the whole of the Aoi Cosmos appears to give the All Link system its functionality. How harrowing it is to have an event inspiring connection with others be used for something as malicious as complete extermination. Even an entity championing robots intends to exploit the wonder that is the Ocean Spread existing across the Aoi Cosmos for selfish and malevolent purposes. Rather than the upcoming event being one of celebration at what is possible within the cosmos, it has become a deadline wrapped in terror, despair and isolation. Even within a universe as open and expansive as the one in Edens Zero, its denizens can still feel completely alone. How tragic.

Edens Zero Chapter 135 – The Oasis Rebellion

As the Edens Zero crew decide to stop Shura (and Ziggy), they now cast themselves into a conflict that has a whole cosmos army behind it. For one ship to take on a hundred thousand battlecruisers, no matter how capable that ship is, the scales are simply too weighted on the side with the numbers. Force attributed to sheer quantity. In order for the Edens Zero to stand a chance against the enemies they now face, the numbers on their side will need to grow substantially. Fortunately, Laguna has former contacts within the Aoi Cosmos that may be able to assist. Contacts that also wish to see the end to Poseidon Nero’s reign.
