One Piece Chapter 1017 – Jinbe VS Who’s Who: Grudge

One Piece chapter 1017 - Jinbe VS Who's Who

What an interesting revelation conveyed through Who’s Who’s circumstances at the end of the chapter. A former CP-9 agent that existed as a rival to Rob Lucci until the incident that led to the loss of the Gomu Gomu no Mi 12 years ago. Seemingly as Who’s Who was guarding the ship the Gomu Gomu no Mi was kept on, a pirate crew attacked (Red Haired Pirates) and made off with the fruit. Why did the Gomu Gomu no Mi need to be protected by the World Government and why was it so important that the failure to protect it led to Who’s Who’s imprisonment? It’s odd. Wasn’t the Gomu Gomu no Mi just a random Devil Fruit with seemingly no apparent overwhelming qualities? If that is not the case, does the true powers of the Gomu Gomu no Mi reveal itself when the fruit is awakened? Or was the fruit being guarded merely because Im had a vision or feeling that the Gomu Gomu no Mi would eventually lead to the World Governments downfall?

Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 38 – The Kaiju Weaponry

Kaiju No. 8 chapter 38 - Kafka detained by the Defense Force

Clarity has finally been attributed toward the intentions of the Kaiju faction antagonizing humanity. Not only do the Kaiju seek to eliminate humanity but they also wish to recover the power of their brethren that have fallen into the hands of humanity over the decades. And in humanities case, we also learn how the option of converting Kaiju into weaponry has supplemented their fear and added to the opposition of alternative methods in dealing with Numbered Kaiju. Kafka’s case and Isao’s desire to use his power is unprecedented. Humanity in the past (in regards to Japan) were too afraid of the Kaiju that they never once considered that the Kaiju they were exposed too weren’t representative of every single Kaiju in existence. If humanity were aware that there were Kaiju that were willing to work with humanity, would they act differently?

Edens Zero Chapter 148 – Pino & Happy VS Nasseh: Hypnosis

Edens Zero chapter 148 - Pino and Happy VS Nasseh

An Ether Gear that derives the majority of its application through the mystery surrounding its limitations. When a target is oblivious to the methodology of its initiation, the effect of hypnosis is almost guaranteed but what happens when knowledge of its rules is held by the target? Certainly avenues to nullify its hold would be taken. Such is the case in the battle against Nasseh. The Edens team are currently submerged in a sea of unknown but due to the fragments of information so far presented, it may be possible for the Edens team to piece together a deduction on which to act. Hypnosis applied through non-standard means with the name “The Eye of Horus”. That in conjunction with the Ether streams passing through Nasseh’s eyes, it seems apparent how his hypnosis is being applied onto a target.

Dr. Stone Chapter 201 – Gazing From The Moon

Dr. Stone chapter 201 - Senku and Suika chapter cover

Why-Man’s reaction to the radio waves being broadcasted by the Science Kingdom across Earth is too automated to be coincidental. It is almost as if Why-Man was designed to react to reverberations of humanity it comes across. A seemingly mechanical and expected reaction from Why-Man with a response more threatening than substantial. One has to wonder the form of the mind behind Why-Man and the overwhelming obsession it has with ceasing humanity almost as if Why-Man were programmed to do so. The robotic actions of Why-Man to date can’t be inconsequential. I honestly cannot shake the feeling that Why-Man really is an AI that now resides on the Moon with a directive to petrify humanity. An AI that considers itself superior to humanity.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 84 – Gray VS Hakune: Frozen Dream

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 84 - Gray shatters Hakune's Mugen Setsugekka

A power cold enough to chill one to the bone and a fantasy warm enough to melt the heart. Such is the Mugen Setsugekka that Hakune attempted to defeat Gray with. Yet within the maelstrom of happiness, Gray held on to his purpose and shattered the illusion devoid of the one he loves. Deep down what Gray seeks is the embrace of those he loves and moments of normality to share amongst them. Simple and blissful moments of celebration together with his family. Moments that he had not had the opportunity to experience with them. Part of Gray was certainly seduced by such joy yet another aspect of himself feels he has a duty beyond making himself happy. A desire to respond to the immeasurable love he has received.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest (Manga) – The Adventure Beyond

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest chapter 1 - opening colour spread

When an end arrives, emotions from the corners of the extremes meld together into an ineffable moment. Whether it be joy, sorrow, relief, disappointment, satisfaction, numbness or indifference. It is a moment where the many feelings one holds for that experience cascades together. A story is no different. Upon its end, you come to characterise the meaning of the experience within emotion. If a story is particularly enjoyable and resonant with ones heart, a fascination for what lies beyond emerges. Such is the case with Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest for me. I can’t help but feel privileged and grateful that such a joyous and enjoyable story has a continuation. A story that now sees Fairy Tail target the 100 Years Quest that no other mage guild has managed to complete is over a century. Let the new adventure commence!

Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 37 – The Human Of Monster #8

Kaiju No. 8 chapter 37 - Kafka is consumed by his Kaiju's rage

Cornered into a position that threatens his promise, Kafka consolidates every essence of his being to will his body into action and away from the blind rage consuming the Kaiju within him. To stop Monster #8, Kafka first stops himself. The hand that pierced his core jolted his mind back into consciousness. Injured yet in control, Kafka meets Isao’s regret with a expression of who he is. Kafka is not Monster #8, he IS Kafka Hibino. After such a display, beyond the terror Monster #8 can bring, the Defense Force now has concrete proof that Kafka can stop himself from running rampant if such a situation arises. The evidence Kafka has provided should be enough to merit his survival despite the risk it could pose to the Defense Force. And if Chief Shinomiya oversees Kafka’s presence, the Defense Force should be more comfortable allowing Kafka to remain within the Defense Force.

Edens Zero Chapter 147 – Oceans 6: Lyra And Nasseh

Edens Zero chapter 147 - Lyra, the new commander of Shura's forces

More members of the Oceans 6 begin to move targeting the Edens Zero team that they are aware of whom have snuck inside the Nero 66 facility. As first impressions go about the personality of Lyra and Nasseh, I can’t help but notice the hubris emanating from their dialogue and composure. Elevated they are by their own power that the prospect of a challenge has ceased to exist as a possibility within their minds. The Oceans 6 shown within this chapter carry themselves as the next step of Aoi Cosmos warriors. Powerful they may be but contained within a regulated bubble they have existed, at least in terms of their time within the Imperial Army. The universe is vast with impossibility only a word.

The potential of science continues to be on display within the chapter. As the base rocket engine is designed, so to is the Perseus 2.0. And with the birth of the new Perseus, the journey across the Atlantic begins where Senku and Co. look to establish other cities and procure the materials needed for the spaceship that will take them to the Moon where Why-man is located. At the current story pace, we may actually have the the revival of the Corn City group within the next chapter.
