One Piece Chapter 1014 – Kaido VS The Rebellion

After dispatching Luffy into the ocean, Kaido turns his eyes to the Samurai and in particular, Momonosuke, the Lord of the rebel forces currently fighting across Onigashima. Kaido intends to shatter the spirits of the rebels with the news of Luffy’s defeat and the annihilation of their lord, Momonosuke. What Kaido fails to grasp is the independence of each Samurai’s belief. They have all reached a point where they will happily give their life to protect and to fight for their lord, nation and people. Fear and desperation have already guided each of them to this point. Adding more terror won’t change the resolution burned into their soul. The Straw Hat Pirates won’t give up and neither will the Samurai. Kin’emon, the representative of the Samurai rebellion now stands against Kaido challenging him head on with the weight of the nation on his shoulder and the presence of his lord behind him. Overpowered by Kaido as he may be, Kin’emon still stands.

Kaiju No.8 Chapter 35 – Chief Shinomiya VS Kafka

You shrewd man Isao Shinomiya. The whole display by him against Monster #8 is most likely his attempt to provide the Defense Force leadership with a foundation of confidence on which he can propose his request. Chief Shinomiya’s intention was never to eliminate Monster #8 but rather to provide concrete evidence that he is capable of dispatching Monster #8 if a situation arises that calls for it. More than anyone in the Defense Force, Chief Shinomiya likely understands what the Kaiju are capable of and what they are able to endure. Chief Shinomiya has reminded the Defense Force that he is still as powerful as he once was and established that he is more than enough to take down Monster #8 if Kafka ever decides to betray the Defense Force. After such a display, the Defense Force would have little doubt in Chief Shinomiya’s abilities and may just approve a certain request he is likely to make such as working with Kafka to learn more about the Kaiju, their functionality and the structure of hybrids.

Edens Zero Chapter 144 – Gravity, Time And Space

Rebecca has used her powers and reversed herself back 90 seconds which means the whole world she now exist in is the past present from her perspective. For those 90 seconds, anything else that happened within the world outside the facility will also have taken place in the world she came from. This could mean the explosion Shiki was caught up in may not have taken place yet in the world Rebecca reverted to. If everything plays out as it had, Shiki will fall prey to the explosion once more. But given the connection Shiki and Rebecca share, could Shiki have once again had his gravity attract memories of the future present into his current self? Could the Shiki in the current world now be partially aware of the self-destruct protocol the robot is about to activate? If so, will Shiki be able to adapt to the situation using the knowledge he now possesses? And what about Shura, as a Gravity Gear user, can he also attract memories of his other selves from different timelines when Rebecca uses her powers?

Dr. Stone Chapter 197 – Reviving The Deceased

In addition to healing injuries, the state of petrification also appear to have the effect of reviving a person from death. Just as how Senku and Tsukasa’s lives were brought back through the use of the petrification state, Hyoga who was stated to have died by Tsukasa was returned to life when revival fluid was used on his statue. The initial malicious characteristic of the petrification may not be such. Rather than ending humanity, could the source between the petrification 3700 years ago be the result of a desire to save it? If the petrification can heal and restore life, was the mind behind it intending to restore a certain life? ‘Why-man’ may not be as antagonistic as initially suspected.

Dr. Stone Chapter 196 – The Revival of Dr. Stone

What an inspiring chapter. After the reintroduction to the stone world, the change of perspective from Senku to Suika worked incredibly. And the notion that science exist beyond any life conveyed itself magnificently through the journey Suika went through coming to terms with being alone in the world and having no revival fluid at her disposal. No matter the knowledge that is snuffed out through the termination of scientific minds, science will always exist. The process involved in understanding the universe we live in still exist. And the hunger for curiosity is a characteristic inherit in all human beings. With life naturally comes the existence of science. And through that intimate relation humans have with science, progress is born. Suika’s journey in reviving Senku encapsulated that notion wondrously.

Kaiju No.8 Chapter 33-34 – The Heart Of A Monster

Kafka has been captured and the fear overwhelming the Defense Force Leadership has directed their mindsets to the termination of the source behind their terror. Fear of the power the Kaiju possess and fear of the uncertainty surrounding the Kaiju’s existence. The line between Humanity and Kaiju has been drawn in their minds and to keep their sanity within the confines of their understanding, the actions they arrive at involve treating Kafka as the Monsters they combat against. Although unlike the rest, the Chief of the Defense Force, Isao Shinomiya, takes a direct approach in assessing the danger Kafka possesses. If Chief Shinomiya believed wholeheartedly that Kafka was a complete threat, the Defense Force would be executing him. But instead, Chief Shinomiya has opted to test Kafka, both his DNA and human tendencies. Kafka is undoubtedly a Hybrid, but can he prove to Chief Shinomiya that the heart he possesses is not that of a monster but that of himself – someone born with the desire to help others?

Edens Zero Chapter 143 – Shiki VS Shura: Repulsion

For someone like Shiki to reject ones offer for friendship, that person must be incredibly duplicitous. What should have been a reaction of exuberance from Shiki was instead one of caution. Any sincerity or genuineness was devoid in the weight of Shura’s words upon reaching his hand out. Both the arrogance and ignorance of Shura led him to believe that any offer he would make would be accepted. Yet, Shiki who values friendship tremendously, understood the character of Shura and recognised the type of person he was based on his intentions and actions. Shiki drew a line in the sand and rejected Shura’s offer, something which likely hasn’t happened frequently to Shura. The battle between the two may have paused but Shiki will without question make his way back to Shura and challenge him once again.

One Piece Chapter 1013 – The Might Of The Yonko

None of the challengers so far facing off against Big Mom and Kaido have yet to escape the gaping chasm of differing power levels that exist between the Emperor and themselves. Page One encountered Big Mom and was taken out by one hit. Likewise, Ulti, looking for an avenue to vent her rage sourced from witnessing Page One getting injured has met the same fate when facing off against Big Mom. After one hit from Big Mom’s Master Cannon, Ulti is unconscious and defeated. The only two characters that have somewhat challenged the Yonko are Luffy and Zoro. Yet, both are incapacitated with Zoro momentarily out of commission and Luffy unconscious plummeting from Onigashima floating in the sky toward the ocean below or the Wano mainland if Onigashima has reached it. Will an ‘ally’ able to traverse the skies save Luffy or will the awaiting ground or ocean below greet Luffy with its vast embrace?

Edens Zero Chapter 142 – Shiki VS Shura: Intersecting Gravity

Two gravity gear users subject to the weight of its pull. Both having the direction of their abilities originating from Ziggy. And both orphaned as young children. The journey each of them went through during their lives shaped how they now apply the force of their gravity. The difference in the application of gravity can be noted between the Shiki and Shura. The latter succumbs to the allure of offensive power establishing the familiarity Shura has for utilising gravity onto objects transforming them into projectile weapons. Shiki on the other hand, prefers a defensive approach allowing him to internalize his gravity to evade and nullify attacks. Shiki understands the need to defeat Shura but when met by the ‘hand’ reaching out using the word friend, there is a certain reaction automatic in Shiki that overrides him. With the concept of friend now being attached to Shura, can Shiki ignore any conflict that may arise in his heart or will that weight anchor him down to defeat?

One Piece Chapter 1012 – Nami: Unwavering Resolve

Nami may have a tendency to fall on the side of self-preservation in the face of exceedingly powerful opponents but there are times when the spirit behind her nature draws a line. A point at which she can’t bring herself to turn and run away from. And that threshold is witnessing a child get injured in front of her. It may be a nature inherited from her mother, Bell-mère, but whenever a child in front of her needs help, Nami will not budge until she helps them. Right now, a threat to Tami exist in the form and Ulti and Nami has made it her responsibility to protect Tama by defeating Ulti. The odds may be stacked against Nami but in this moment, she stands against opponents far strongest than her because behind her is someone she needs to protect.
