[Theory] Shingeki no Kyojin – The Founding Titan

Shingeki no Kyojin chapter 122 - Ymir, the slave to the Founding Titan and Eren, the one who wishes to end it

Ever since the Titans became the source of fear and hatred around the world of Shingeki no Kyojin, the characters within have been trying to find a solution past the anger, resentment and 2,000 years of suffering wrought by the Titan. Different characters seeking to wield the Founding Titans power arrived at different answers. One wanted to isolate their people within walls on an Island for a moment of temporary peace until the world arrives to end them. Another wanted to wield it to completely end the lives of the Eldians on Paradis. Another wanted to remove the ability of having children from the people of Ymir. And the one who ultimately came to control the power decided to release the Titans slumbering within the walls to wreak destruction over the world outside Paradis through the Rumbling. In the end, what would have been the “right” way to utilise such power within the world the story exist in?

Shingeki No Kyojin Chapter 138 – Farewell

Shingeki no Kyojin chapter 138 - Mikasa farewells Eren

The choice left front of Eren was always an impossible one. Fear had defined the ages and hatred had entrenched it deeply within the worlds truth. To live, meant despising the source of such terror. The Eldians became demons within the eyes of many. And a divide was created both physically and mentally to segregate such dread. Even the Eldians themselves who bore no responsibility for the atrocities committed in the past were taught to hate their history and themselves because of the blood that flowed through their veins. The only solution past Eldians came up with was isolating themselves from the world until the world was ready to cast their judgement and justice on those Eldians. It was a desperate attempt to carve out an age of peace within a time of conflict. Ultimately though, only more suffering amounted through the ignorance imprisoning those on Paradis. Such repercussions from the past became a ghost to Eren haunting him every moment since becoming aware of Eldia’s history. Having possessed the power to shift the direction of the future, Eren chose that which was important to him. To forsake the world in favour of his homeland. For Paradis’s continuation. At the end of it all, the remnants of Eren’s desires fueled by the nature of the Founding Titan organism saw his actions force his comrades against him. With Mikasa ultimately being the one to liberate Eren from his struggle. And the one to say the final farewell to the boy who deep down only wished freedom for the world.

Edens Zero Chapter 136 – The Aoi High Tide

Edens Zero chapter 136 - colour spread of the Edens Zero team

A miraculous natural event that encapsulates the whole of the Aoi Cosmos appears to give the All Link system its functionality. How harrowing it is to have an event inspiring connection with others be used for something as malicious as complete extermination. Even an entity championing robots intends to exploit the wonder that is the Ocean Spread existing across the Aoi Cosmos for selfish and malevolent purposes. Rather than the upcoming event being one of celebration at what is possible within the cosmos, it has become a deadline wrapped in terror, despair and isolation. Even within a universe as open and expansive as the one in Edens Zero, its denizens can still feel completely alone. How tragic.

One Piece Chapter 1008 – Kanjuro And Orochi’s Return

One Piece chapter 1008 - Kanjuro's ink clone of Oden

It has finally been confirmed. Kanjuro and Orochi are still alive. Of course they are. From the moment their were presented as having been killed, it was obvious their deaths were only a misdirect to remove their presence from the focus of the story so that when they do reappear, a dramatic reveal could be possible. Death in One Piece for present time named characters is handled very subjectively. No matter how dead someone may appear in the story when their death scene is initially presented, if there is any ambiguity in their deaths, it is almost certain that they are still alive (looks at Vergo and Monet). The two conditions that are seemingly required before a present time named character can die are moving the plot forward substantially with their deaths and having another character(s) in the story ready to carry on their will. Neither Kanjuro or Orochi had any of that. Their reappearances more than a surprise were an expectant inevitability.

Edens Zero Chapter 135 – The Oasis Rebellion

Edens Zero chapter 135 - Shiki uses his Gravity Gear to disarm all the rebels

As the Edens Zero crew decide to stop Shura (and Ziggy), they now cast themselves into a conflict that has a whole cosmos army behind it. For one ship to take on a hundred thousand battlecruisers, no matter how capable that ship is, the scales are simply too weighted on the side with the numbers. Force attributed to sheer quantity. In order for the Edens Zero to stand a chance against the enemies they now face, the numbers on their side will need to grow substantially. Fortunately, Laguna has former contacts within the Aoi Cosmos that may be able to assist. Contacts that also wish to see the end to Poseidon Nero’s reign. An organisation formed to liberate the Aoi Cosmos. A rebellion called Oasis.

[Theory] One Piece – The Chapter 1007 Oden

One Piece Chapter 1007 - Fake Oden

With the cliff hanger at the end of chapter 1007, someone who appears to be Oden enters the Treasure Repository where the Akazaya Samurai are located. Caught completely off guard by such a possibility, the Samurai could nothing but stumble back in shock and attempt to rationalise what exactly was taking place before them. Naturally, their emotions internally reacted with joy as conveyed by the tears of Kin’emon. Yet who exactly is the mysterious figure and could it really be the real Oden? Surely it can’t be considering the flashback that took place earlier in the arc where Oden was shot by Kaido as he collapse in the pot of boiling water. I also believe the figure that appeared in chapter 1004 to tend to the injured Samurai and this Oden aren’t one and the same.

Kaiju No.8 Chapter 29 – The Battle Princess Arrives

Kaiju No.8 Chapter 29 - The Battle Princess, Mina, arrives at the scene

It makes sense now why Soshiro took such a liking to Kafka. The situation with Kafka reflected his own in a way. Just as how Soshiro wanted to push himself in a direction others saw as a futile struggle with an inevitable end, Kafka now seeks to accomplish something he doesn’t appear to be suited for. There is the obvious difference of Kafka possessing a Kaiju within him but from Soshiro’s perspective, Kafka is someone seemingly unfit for the Defense Force yet an individual possessing an immense amount of passion to exceed their limitations. Soshiro resonated with the struggle Kafka was going through and sought to be the support for Kafka which he didn’t have until he met Mina. Soshiro understands there is merit behind that which isn’t noticeably apparent at first glance and if given the chance, anyone can begin to substantiate their value. And Soshiro wasn’t wrong, thanks to Kakfa’s experience as a Kaiju dismantler, he brings a very unique perspective to the Defense Force which has displayed utility in the previous Kaiju attacks they were in. Likewise, Soshiro’s efforts in this current battle against the Humanoid Kaiju (Kaiju #10?) has carved the path out for Mina to unleash. And with the Battle Princess now at the scene, the Humanoid Kaiju can get the fight it so intensely craves.

Edens Zero Chapter 134 – The Chaos Within The Aoi Cosmos

As the inevitable clash between the players relevant to the arising conflict edges ever closer, the unfortunate reality of innocence getting caught between the fighting manifests. The chaos on Foresta wrapped every single inhabitant in its agony and now as a response to Ziggy’s move, Shura has spread disinformation about the threat the robots pose and declared them a danger to the humans living within the Aoi Cosmos that needs to be removed. In an attempt to rally support behind his madness, Shura has constructed a deceptive narrative in which those humans seeking freedom and survival have no choice but to cast their support behind him. And in a hollow attempt to substantiate his claims, he arbitrarily judged innocent androids as rebels and had them killed. With the chaos from Foresta expanding, the whole of the Aoi Cosmos looks set to be consumed by such a darkness.

Edens Zero Chapter 133 – Ziggy’s Path

Edens Zero chapter 133 - Ziggy transforms and readies his force to take over Nero's Empire

Clarity has at last been shone in part on Ziggy’s history. What initially drove Ziggy on his path to locate Mother was the desire to retrieve his memories that he had lost in some way in the past. His journey led to his reunion with Xenolith, his encounter with Elsie and later the meeting with Shiki as a baby. An overriding feeling of importance attached itself to Shiki and despite Ziggy’s desire to seek out his memories, he felt at the time raising Shiki took precedence. Eventually 15 years later, Rebecca would meet Shiki and the flow of space, time and dimension would become active players in the fate of the world. A consequence of such a fate resulted in Ziggy coming back online through currently unrevealed means with his memories restored. Such a disentanglement in Ziggy activated a realisation. An understanding of what his purpose is and why he was so drawn to Shiki upon their meeting.
