Summer Anime Season 2014 Line-Up – Neregate

It’s been just over a week since the season began and already there a ton of anime that I am finding quite exciting based on the summaries I have been reading and from the few trailers/promos I’ve watched.

Pretty much plan on watching at some point:

>>Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen: I am ready for some mecha-action!

>>Tokyo Ghoul: A dark fantasy huh? Sounds like this could be quite entertaining.

>>Rail Wars!: What a weird take on a parallel world, fortunately though I like weird.

>>Shin Strange+: I’ve watched a few of the episodes from the first season and thought they were hilarious, so I am definitely going to check out these new episodes, especially considering they are only a few minutes per episode =).

>>Sword Art Online II: I have not watched the first season yet, but I have heard from friends that it is really good, so I do plan to watch the first season at some point in time and go on into this second season.

>>Sengoku Basara Judge End: I love the previous season of Sengoku Basara as they were action satisfaction. I am concerned about Production I.G no more being the studio producing this season, but hopefully things turn out good.

>>Aldnoah.Zero: I am definitely going to watch this, the tagline itself (“Let justice be done. Though the heavens fall”) is reason enough but seeing that Gen Urobuchi created the story makes me want to watch this series even more.

>>Akame ga Kill!: I’ve read a bit of the manga and I really do love this series. When I first read the series, I did not expect its themes of corruption, death and suffering to be so apparent. Right from the first chapter though I realised the manga was more mature and driven then I had initially perceived. The characters as well grow on you and from the chapters I have read, I have to say that even though she is an antagonist, Esdese is my favourite character. Looking forward to this and I do feel like catching up to the manga =D.

>>Space Dandy Season 2: I watched episode 1 of season 1 and loved that, especially the space-action-comedy nature of it. I haven’t got around to watching the first season, but since season 2 has begun, I probably will get around to watching it.

>>Kuroshitsuji Circus Hen: The previous seasons have been entertaining and enjoyable to watch, so I will probably end up watching this season as well.

>>Zankyou no Terror: With the tagline “Pull the trigger on this world” and the synopsis of a terrorist bombing beginning a game about to encompass all of Japan, you can’t help but be intrigued by the story behind such a mystery and act. Well, I for one am.

>>Psycho-Pass: I should have probably watched the series when it aired first, but I didn’t, so I don’t mind giving this “edited version” a try, especially since it is a Production I.G anime.

>>Tokyo ESP: The mangaka of this also made Ga-Rei which I had read and enjoyed, save feeling a bit empty near the end when I felt things could have concluded more embracingly. But regardless, Ga-Rei was a great manga and I am looking forward to the anime of his new manga, especially with such an intriguingly weird synopsis.

>>Monogatari Series Second Season -Hanamonogatari-: Love the first season so of course I am going to watch this. Looking forward to the uniqueness Shaft brings to their anime.

As for movies, Ghost in the Shell Arise 3: Ghost Tears, I am so looking forward to that. I LOVED the first part of Arise and am waiting to watch the second part.
