Naruto chapter 684 - Kaguya and Black Zetsu's plan

What is this “plan”? Tell me please!

Despite the immense power and ability Kaguya embodies, she was still outplayed by the randomness of Naruto and the sheer audacity his character and actions convey. Not once through the story of Naruto has a villain ever been able to read Naruto and understand exactly what he thinks. Because Naruto goes against the flow of the world so expressively, only until they look in the same direction as Naruto are they able to understand him and once they understand him they realise they have no reason to fight him. Black Zetsu and Kaguya are beginning to understand just how dangerous Naruto is given his unique and gutsy personality.

It is one thing to prepare for the unexpected, but when you can’t even imagine the “unexpected” how can you end up preparing for that? Naruto utilises the jutsu he knows in such creative and unique ways that it makes it impossible for his opponent to predict just what is going to come next, thus making is insanely difficult to prepare in advance for Naruto.

Naruto may not express it all the time, but he can be seriously smart at times, especially when it comes to dealing with situations where hope has all but been extinguished. His determination coupled with his unique way of thinking allows him to see a path in a place no else can see, a path that can lead to a place everyone hopes for but never thought possible. Black Zetsu and Kaguya are beginning to get this same feeling the more they witness the person that is Uzumaki Naruto. Which is why Black Zetsu resigned in trying to absorb Naruto’s chakra in favour of killing him in order to stop the threat on Kaguya being sealed once again. But even then, they failed to read Naruto and even ended up failing to kill him.

Naruto chapter 684 - Black Zetsu's lack of understanding of Naruto

Black Zetsu and his fear of Naruto

It was interesting that even with her Byakugan, Kaguya failed to pick out that Naruto being a clone, but I suppose given the refined chakra from Kurama, Naruto was able to advance the Kage Bushin no Jutsu to the point of making clones indistinguishable from his real body, even when his opponent has the Sharinnegan and Byakugan.

With Black Zetsu being portrayed as totally separate from Kaguya, it is confirmed that Black Zetsu and Kaguya are two separate existences. I do wonder though what this “plan” they have built through many years is and what purpose they intend to use the chakra they gather for. What is “that time” Black Zetsu is referring to? What threat about to strike warrants the transformation of White Zetsu? I am insanely intrigued by what Kaguya and Black Zetsu are planning and why they need so much chakra =/. Could they really be planning on combating the Shinju or some other antagonistic force? Ah I really want to know what Kaguya’s intentions are!

It has also been heavily implied that the Kaguya clan which Kimimaro belonged to was most definitely a clan originating from Kaguya/Hamura (her son). Kaguya has displayed the ability to utilise her bones as weapons just as Kimimaro was able to. Although Kaguya has displayed a more destructive use of such an ability. I look forward to seeing how she utilises that ability further in her battles alongside her Byakugan and Sharinnegan.

Naruto chapter 684 - Obito and Sakura

Hopefully Sakura comes in use more this arc…

With Obito and Sakura managing to enter undetected into the Core Dimension of Kaguya’s, it will be exciting to see them locate Sasuke and escape or at least find a way to deal a significant blow to Kaguya from within that dimension to hinder her ability in further changing the dimensions/environments. Looking forward to the next chapter.
