The Head of the Special War Powers, Kurosaki Ichigo – colour by i-azu
What a shame, I was hoping to see Candice, Liltotto, Meninas, and Giselle in a more evenly matched battle, but with them now going against Ichigo, I doubt we will get to see them highlighted much more =(. It was though refreshing to see some Quincy use a bow for a change, it has been so long since a Quincy last wielded one. Amusing that the four female Sternritter believe they can take Ichigo on even though they realise he is the head of the special war powers. It won’t be too long before they begin they rectify their thought process with Ichigo drawing Zangetsu.
Candice sure is impulsive, but I suppose it fits with the ‘thunder bolt’ motif. Hilarious though the reason she had for snapping so badly at Ichigo – the early morning hours getting her hair ready has now been ruined by him =(. Thanks to that though we got to see a Quincy draw a bow and fire an arrow! I didn’t think I would see anyone outside Uryuu fire an arrow from a bow within the Sternritter, but I guess I was wrong, bows are very much still a Quincy thing. In Candice’s case, the bow works extremely well with her thunderbolt powers, it allows her to use the thunder she can generate (which is massive) to fire a bolt as an arrow.

I’m surprised that even after they realised it was Ichigo before them, the female Sternritter still intended to take him on, do they really believe they stand a chance after they witnessed the battle of Zaraki vs Gremmy and are aware that Ichigo is more dangerous than Zaraki? I guess they don’t fully believe Ichigo is that strong and are equally caught up in the battle to cut it short and retreat. Still, I wonder if there is something they have up their sleeves to use as a last resort, kind of like Apacci, Mila Rose and Sung-Sun when they merged their left arms together to form Ayon. Whatever happens though, things don’t look good for them.
Yhwach, what is planning and is it finally time he begins to make a move and personally handle executing his intentions? I am also curious about the statement Askin Nakk Le Vaar made, why is he so apprehensive about what Yhwach is about to set in motion?
